Where Will Tony Romo End Up Next Season?

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

There continues to be plenty of speculation regarding Tony Romo's future in the NFL. The Cowboys have picked up rookie Dak Prescott in the 2016 NFL draft and continues to prove why he should stay the starter. The team is are 9-1 under Prescott and he has lead his team to beat every rival in the NFC East taking first place. A history of injuries has kept Romo on the bench for extended periods of time. The question is, even when healthy, should Romo still sit to Prescott? If Prescott keeps playing the way he is, will Romo have a spot on the 2017 Cowboys roster?

There are a lot of options for Romo moving forward. He could choose to take a large pay cut and share the starting position with Prescott. Maybe he loses the starting battle and becomes backup to Prescott. Romo could decide to retire. That is a good choice if he values his long-term health. Or he could be traded to another team.

There are plenty of rumors floating around about which team would take a chance with Romo. In recent news, Ian Rapoport has reported that Romo is eyeing the Broncos as his next destination. Peyton Manning got one last Superbowl in before he retired, maybe Romo can do the same. It does seem possible he could see a small 1-2 year contract. Broncos could value someone with veteran talent. Maybe give up an early draft pick.

Some say he will have a lot of power coming this offseason.
