Kyrie Irving Pays For Injured Student to go to College

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports

Kyrie Irving still has a heart for his old high school, St. Patrick High School (now Patrick School) in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Irving's latest kind gesture was towards a young 12-year-old named Spencer Joyner, who has been diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri. Psuedotumor cerebri brings on consistent headaches and even vision loss.

Irving has decided to pay his tuition. "It made me feel really good and lucky to have one of my favorite players do that," said Joyner.

Irving also paid for Nixon Geraldo's funeral, a 14-year-old boy who collapsed on the basketball court and later died. He attended the same school as Joyner does.
